When I was first offered the opportunity to review one of the monthly Vegan Cuts snack boxes, I was instantly excited- a whole box of yummy vegan snacks for me to try, delivered right to my doorstep?? Yes, please! Little did I know what a treat I was in for.
If you haven’t yet heard of Vegan Cuts, I highly recommend checking them out. The company is run by a young vegan couple that believes you can “make a positive difference by choosing vegan options when purchasing clothing, shoes, accessories, body care products and everyday household items”. Thus, they founded Vegan Cuts, which offers a multitude of these products in their online store, often at a great discount. In addition, they have a monthly subscription service that allows consumers to have a box full of vegan goodies delivered to their homes so that they might be introduced to new and exciting items, which they may not have known about otherwise. Let me tell you- it is so worth it!
My Goodie Box
The box that they sent my way was chock full of all kinds of amazing snacks, almost all of which I had never tried before. When the box arrived, I opened it to find 9 different snacks, and a vegan body scrub to boot! Suffice it to say, this arrival literally made my day.
While all of the snacks were tasty, there were certainly a few that enticed me to the point that I will not only be looking for them in my local stores, but also requesting them and even purchasing online if needed so that I may try them over and over.
The Favorite of Treats
My ultimate favorite from the March Vegan Cuts Snack Box was the Cocomo Joe Cocomocorn, whose packages describes the product as “healthy (really) caramel corn”. And yes, of course, it’s vegan! It was literally the best caramel corn that has ever met my taste buds- vegan or otherwise. It had a really buttery flavor to it, accented by an appealing subtlety of burnt sugar/toffee, followed by the slightest hint of coconut, and finished with just a touch of salt- a perfect complement to the sweetness of the popcorn.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the Earth Balance brand’s new snack- (vegan) Aged White Cheddar Puffs. The little puffs, apparently made from non-GMO cornmeal and navy beans, reminded me a bit of the Pirate’s Booty I used to eat years ago before becoming vegan. They had a great crunchy, almost Styrofoam-y (in a good way!) consistency, and literally tasted just like aged white cheddar cheese. Seriously amazing. I could probably down an entire bag in one sitting, but luckily the box contained a single serving size package, so my waistline thanks them for that! What’s even better is that their website boasts a host of other flavors, such as Vegan Buttery Flavor Popcorn and PB Popps, which appear to be a peanut butter and oatmeal based popcorn treat that I may actually become addicted to. Needless to say, I will definitely be scouting these out at my local natural foods store!
Some other favorites included Sjaak’s Organic Vegan Milk Chocolate Eggs (just in time for Easter) and Flamous Falafel Chips, which were a brilliant hybrid of corn chip-meet-falafel and would more than likely be good with pretty much any vegan spread you can imagine.
My fiancé and brother were here to help me sample the goodies when they arrived, and we had demolished the delectables in no time. YUM!
How to Get Yours
I highly recommend trying out these amazing little snack samplings offered by Vegan Cuts. Being a vegan, I’ve noticed that it’s often easy to get stuck in a rut of eating the same foods over and over, especially if you’re on a budget or short on time. Vegan Cuts is a great way to introduce new snacks into your life, many of which boast higher nutrition and even nutrients such as iron and fiber.
You can get yours by visiting their website and signing up for only $19.95 per month, which includes shipping (They ship to Canada and the US). Not only would this serve as a great treat and something to look forward to each month, but it would also make a wonderful gift option, especially for those who are new to the world of veganism or interested in taking the leap and switching to a plant-based diet. It just goes to show that delicious, animal-product-free snacks can be found anywhere…and they taste just as good (better, in my opinion), and are often times much healthier as well.
While you’re on the website, be sure to take a look at the fabulous clothing and body care options offered by Vegan Cuts as well…happy snacking!!
We are happy to award the Vegan Cuts Snack Box with The Vegan Woman’s recommendation label:
