Setting Sail on a Vegan Cruise – Why We’re Excited about the 2014 Holistic Holiday at Sea

If you have been following our Facebook page, you already know how ecstatic we are at the invitation we’ve received to join the 2014 vegan cruise of Holistic Holiday at Sea

As vegans, we find ourselves dreaming about the type of holiday where you get to eat everything on the menu (not having to check if it’s vegan or not) and meet other compassionate and aware people, while also getting to enjoy mainstream favorites like scenic views, white sandy beaches, water fun and cocktails in the sun…

Unfortunately, with veganism not being in the mainstream quite yet, not many holidays like that exist – which is why I was so excited not only to discover that this type of holiday does exist, but also to be invited to participate and blog about my experience on this one week vegan holiday at sea.

Why I’m so excited about this vegan cruise:

The location: The cruise leaves Miami and sets sail to the Caribbean islands…sandy beaches and crystal clear water here we come!

The food: The cruise includes three vegan meals a day, and vegan cooking classes.

Mind and body nurture: In addition to the workout sessions offered by vegan body builder, Robert Cheek, the program offers daily yoga classes (I LOVE Yoga!), meditation sessions, and lectures by Yogi Desai.

The program: Now this is the part that really got my heart racing with joy! Not only is this holiday a great opportunity to relax and enjoy, but it is also offers an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the most valued and acclaimed leaders in the field of health and nutrition. The program is laced with lectures by world renowned and inspiring health care leaders such as Dr. T. Colin Campbell (author of The China Study), and, my biggest health and nutrition hero, the man who opened my mind and helped me (together with Gary Yourofsky’s lecture, and my darling hubby Scott) make the transition from vegetarian to vegan, Dr. Neal Barnard, president of The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
