Derek Tresize and Marcella Torres are what you would call all-round vegan role models. In addition to being successful athletes and bodybuilders, they are also an inspiring couple, business partners, full time vegan parents, and to top it all off they are using their great physiques to promote the health benefits of a plant based diet!
Derek and Marcella have co-written the vegan bodybuilding book The Vegan Muscle & Fitness Guide to Bodybuilding Competitions. Together they are the creators and owners of the Vegan Muscle and Fitness website and Richmond, Virginia’s only plant-based personal training center, Root Force.
Derek is a WNBF professional bodybuilder, certified personal trainer, has a BS in Biology and is certified in plant-based nutrition. Marcella is a bodybuilder, a professional dancer, has a BS in Mathematics AND Physics and is working towards her PhD in Systems Modeling and Mathematical Biology.
Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing this inspirational couple about life and challenges as outspoken vegans, how they are raising a vegan child, the importance of feeling and looking healthy to effectively spread the vegan message, and how to develop an impressive physique like theirs. These two have got it all: brains, brawn and heart. There is so much useful information packed into this interview, so make sure you watch from beginning to end!
